- Operate rail car-moving equipment or participate in the safe marshalling of the rail yard.
- Ensure safety in loading and offloading areas, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform daily inspections of the terminal offloading area and document safety or maintenance concerns.
- Inspect incoming rail cars and document results.
- Spot rail cars correctly as per daily tank car arrival reports.
- Hook up and offload rail cars into the applicable product transfer equipment.
- Prepare empty rail cars for return to the railway or customers, following TDG and railway guidelines.
- Complete and maintain daily reports as required.
- Communicate rail car issues and other concerns to the Terminal Manager.
- Comply with "working alone" policies and emergency response procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping and light maintenance duties at the terminal.
- Report defects or hazards promptly to the supervisor.
- Handle the hookup and offloading of railcars, ensuring safety of all employees.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and assist in the development and implementation of JHAs and SWPs.
- Perform minor repairs and light maintenance of terminal tank cars.
- Preferred: Petroleum mechanics experience or certification
- Previous rail experience is considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Ability to lift 40-60 lbs and work outdoors
- Ability to work at heights per company procedure
- Proven ability to mentor, train, and delegate tasks within the team
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Experience with supervisory or lead hand duties an asset
- CROR (Canadian Rail Operating Rules) considered an asset
- Previous experience with mobile liquid transloading equipment
- Ability to schedule and coordinate loading/unloading times with customers
- Ability to certify in Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR, TDG, Emergency Response, etc.
